The Highlands of
Scotland are Beautiful and tranquil...yet are
dramatic, enduring and ruggedly wild!
We can help you relax, or live life to the
MAX! |
|
As one of the fort william
hostels we are located in what could
be described as the most beautiful part
of Scotland. Ben
Nevis, the highest mountain in the
UK, is seen in all its majesty in the
near-distance. Visit
Glen
Nevis for rope walking and
waterfalls. The
Caledonian
Canal, extending from Loch Eil to
Loch Ness and on to Inverness, runs
virtually by the door (100m).
Nearby is the 'Outdoor Capital of the
UK'
Fort
William. Follow
the 'Road to the Isles' to Skye and
beyond. We are easily accessed by
City-link bus from Skye, Inverness,
Oban and Glasgow, and by train from
Mallaig, Road to the Iles or Fort William
and the South.

We are easily
accessible from the Isle of Skye (41
miles), Oban (47 miles) Inverness (66
miles) and Glasgow... when you're here
the city can seem like a million miles
away
There is a spacious
free car park at Banavie and a children's
play area. A short walk from the car park
leads to the Canal lock gates, where one
can spend time watching vessels navigate
the lock gates. It's a nice walk or cycle
from Banavie into Fort
William via Caol village, or visa
versa.
There's
an award winning village pub, the
Lochy, located just 300 metres
from the hostel and and a hundred
yards from the magnificent Neptune's
Staircase on the Caledonian
Canal.
When visiting the
Fort William area stop off to look
around Old Inverlochy Castle. Although
now a ruin this was one of the most
important castles in Scottish history and
has been the backdrop for two major
historical events, the first and second
battles of
Inverlochy.
Leave
all stress behind...
OR go for the
MAX!

yourself....
